The Journal of the Society of Basque Studies in America is a collection of articles covering various areas of Basque scholarship, including history, literature, linguistics, sociology, anthropology, art and other areas of related interest.  As the official organ of the Society, it is the intention of the Board of Directors to publish the Journal on an annual basis.  The objective aims to gather and disseminate current knowledge and scholarship regarding Basques worldwide so that others may learn of their distinctive heritage, ancient language, customs and traditions.  Other publications in Basque, French and Spanish pursue the same endeavor, thus this effort concentrates on disseminating information to an English-speaking audience.  Please forward your comments or suggestions to the editor via mail (address on title page) or e-mail at szengotitabengoa@hotmail.com

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

If you would like to submit a manuscript for consideration, please prepare a 10 to 20 page double-spaced document with adequate citations utilizing the Microsoft Word format and email it as an attachment to the email address above.

Keep a copy for yourself because submitted articles will not be returned.  All will be informed whether their work is to be included in the next issue of the Journal.  No manuscript will be considered if it is concurrently under consideration by another journal or press.  The editors are the final arbiters of length, grammar and usage.

 

   

SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION

The Journal appears at the beginning of each year.  We receive a number of  complementary communications from our members as well as scholars using the Journal as a research tool.  As a result, we believe that we are making a positive contribution to the body of knowledge on Basque Studies.  This being the case, we also seek to expand our membership.  If you would be interested in joining the Society ...
